At Thoroughbred Park in downtown Lexington, a field of bronze horses runs for the finish line.

One can almost hear the thundering hooves on the track.

This is one race where a photographer does not need a long lense to get close to the action.

And winning by a nose...

Cumberland Falls State Park

Two areas of Kentucky in particular are viewed in these photos.

In Lexington, we have visted two places that have to do with horses. First is Kentucky Horse Park (below), where the statue of Man O War dominates the landscape. Second is the Thoroughbred Park in downtown Lexington (left). Here a horse race is permanently frozen in time and in bronze.

The other location is Cumberland Falls State Park (above). The falls on the Cumberland River are called "The Niagara of the South."

Man O War was a famous race horse who won nearly every race in the early 1900's. He is buried here at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
