My interest in photography began early in life when I found an old Kodak Brownie camera in our home and asked my parents to get me some film so I could take pictures with it. Unfortunately, film was an expensive luxury in our large family, so I didn't get much film to work with. So I took imaginary pictures without film. It was much cheaper that way. When I was in college, my interest in photography resurfaced, but in the form of 8mm movies. The picture area was quite small in 8mm, and the resultant projected images were shaky and grainy, but I enjoyed making little movies with the Yashica 8mm move camera I had. I also purchased a Yashica Twin-Lens Reflex camera for still photography. Of course, now I was buying the film, not my parents. I took many pictures with that camera. By 1972, my interest in photography had developed (pardon the pun) even more. I convinced my wife of four years that it was important for us to purchase a 35mm Single Lens Reflex camera. That is when I began taking 35mm color slides. My first 35mm camera was a Pentax K1000. Over time I managed to purchase a telephoto lens and a variety of filters for the camera. When our first child was born in 1976, Super 8 sound cameras were new on the market. These took the old 8mm film, arranged the sprocket holes differently, put a magnetic sound stripe down both sides so I could make sound movies. The large picture area produced a better projected image and the sound was reasonably good. Later I replaced my Pentax with a newer Pentax, and when VHS video came along |

in the 1980's I purchased a Sharp VHS video camera to record images of my growing family. Now we are in the digital age. I own a Sony FD Mavica digital camera, and a Panasonic Mini-DV video camera. The videos I have placed on YouTube (accessible from the main menu) were made with this camera. Some of the pictures on these pages were scanned from 35mm slides, a few were scanned from prints. The newer ones, of course, are digital. The menu above is arranged by the state or province in which the picture was taken. New (and older scanned images) are being added regularly, so check back frequently. I hope you enjoy my photos. If you would like to comment on any photo, please send an email to
