HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER THAT YOUR DAYS MAY BE LONG IN THE LAND I WILL GIVE YOU

Let Me Tell You What God Did For Me Here

June 5, 1941. Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. A baby boy was born. Me.

Not exactly earth-shattering news. But during the first ten years of my life, God did some interesting things in my family, things which I did not know at the time were things God was using to draw me to Himself. This is not so much my story as it is a story of what God did in a small boy's life.

Those first ten years were lived in Windsor, the southernmost large city in Canada, the city which is actually south of the United States and across the river from Detroit, Michigan.

During those ten years, my family endured a series of experiences that caused me to think about God and Who He was and what He might want to do in my life. Part of those ten years occurred during World War II. I was too little to be concerned about the war. My older brother, Ron, was old enough to be in it. His experiences as they related to my family form a large section of the story of what God in my life.

There were also a Plymouth automobile, a tornado, a radio, an unusual illness, and a strained relationship all of which played a roll in this story and all of which were used by God to reveal Himself to me over the course of those ten years.

Ancient people sometimes erected standing stones in fields by the road so passersby might ask "What does this stone mean?" Then the person who erected the stone would say, "Let me tell you what God for me here."

This is what Windsor's Child is. It is my standing stone.

I hope you will read the book so I can tell you what God did for me when I was Windsor's child.

What others have said about Windsor's Child

In 2002, Windsor's Child was entered in a contest for non-fiction manuscripts held by a major evangelical publisher. It came in fourth in a field of over 150 manuscripts.
Windsor's Child is a delightful book. I found it endearing and enjoyable. The author successfully draws the reader into the life of the main character by creating images and feelings that one can easily relate to. I was alongside the characters as the story unfolded and shared their emotions. As the author shares memories from his youth to present day, you will watch his trust in God grow. You will see the events in his life having a definite purpose and plan that was orchestrated by a loving Lord. The book is well written and was an encouragement to me.
